This is normal, right?

Who would encourage such behavior?

Where does he learn it?

You know when {part 3}

You know you have a child with caber when....

Children with hair look weird... Liam looked so crazy to me when he started growing hair! Now I refuse to cut his hair til he asks- he worked. too hard for that hair.

You are so proud when your baby finally gets hair!

Younger sibling identified nipple as "port site"... Obviously Liam does have a younger sibling yet, it became funny to us when we asked where his belly was he would appropriately lift his shirt, but then see his "line" from his port and start pulling on it. We just knew he thought his IV was his belly!

Cliches

What is your favorite cliche?
I know they call them cliches because it's an overused phrase, but I love using the forgotten cliches!

Mine- well, that's a horse of a different color!

Can someone turn the heat down please?

I was once quoted as saying I'd rather run in the heat than get up early. I will eat my words! 107 sweltering degrees out today! Really? I am starting to rethink this "Sweet Carolina" living.

One Thursday evening I felt like I was going to die during my 5 mile run, and my time showed it also. That Saturday I got up early and ran 10 miles, I wasn't even tired when I finished! Honestly I was amazed at how different I felt without the heat and humidity.

Here are some things I have learned about running in the heat.

  • It takes about 2 weeks for your body to adjust to the heat.
  • Running at the same time everyday will help with this adjustment.
  • HYDRATE! Make sure to drink while you are running. At least 4 oz every 20 minutes.
  • Weigh yourself before and after you run; if you lost weight you did not drink enough.

These are just a few basics. If you want to read more running tips let me know. If you have any to add to the list email me at liamfudgeATyahooDOTcom

Car, Vroom

Cars are an obsession in our house. Liam carries them around saying "car, vroom" Even when I took him to the park last week he had to stop and look at the cars driving by.
His favorite block is the one with the car in it.

In Honor of the Flamingos

I promised a background story on my love of flamingos. In honor of the flamingo candle Liam decapitated today here it it. Don't judge me on my juvenile delinquency. I still maintain my only role was driving the get away vehicle.

In high school a group of friends and I named ourselves "The Flamingo Bandits". We would drive around town on the weekends, swiping pink flamingo lawn ornaments. We accumulated quite a collection. My mom just knew one night she was going to get a call we had been arrested.

My mom woke up the morning of my high school graduation open house to a lawn COVERED in flamingos. She was so mad! Since we lived in a subdivision she made us move them to the backyard before we got in trouble.

This is not our front yard, just a pale comparison.

Only one lawn flamingo survived my parents move. It was a large wooden flower box flamingo. While Liam and I were there last week I went down to the basement to take a picture of it. Can you believe Woman got rid of it?! (I call my mom Woman, but that's a story for another day.)

This is what the flamingo that survived the move looked like.
