Poor Neglected Blog

Oh Hi!  There you are!

I have been so tired, and honestly haven't felt too inspired to write.

Here is what we have been up to.

Last Friday and Saturday LCF Threadz went to Marketplace.
I was so busy for the 2 weeks prior, sewing, making super cute Thanksgiving shirts...  But we didn't do so well there.  It just wasn't very busy at all.  So if you know anyone in need of Thanksgiving onesies still, I have several already made!

I have been on the move!
Running has made a dramatic return to my priority list.

two other fun things that go with running.  I won 2 games of Dietbet last month and won $80! and also lost 6.6 pounds!  GO me!  I'll spare you my before and after pictures, they are both quite humiliating... maybe after this next round.

plusalso I am running another Marathon!  Rock n Roll Raleigh.  I had been telling Brian about how I wanted to sign up for race, motivate myself to keep up with the running so when a friend mentioned signing up for this race I knew I had to!

Now onto my little monsters

We have a great Halloween.  Liam was a dinosaur.  We didn't technically dress up Aubrey, but I put a fleece jacket on her from Great Grandma and everyone thought she was a cow, so WIN.

Aubrey is really becoming a happy little girl, a month ago I would have never called her a happy baby, but now all you have to do is talk to her and she will smile.

Liam is a character like always.  You can't help but laugh at him and his imagination.  "I've never transformed into a dog before"  What 3 year old using the word transform, and now it is part of his everyday vocabulary as he transforms into different creatures.

Happy Fall Ya'll

Yup.  I told you I was excited about the fall.

How about all the Holidays coming up.  I really debated the other day when I was in Carters if I was going to get Aubrey a costume this year (they were half off!) or if I would just dress her in festive clothes.  No Costume yet.

Here are some of the designs I have been working on for the upcoming Holidays.

Five on Friday

Let's talk about the 5 things I am loving this Friday!

1. Sibling Love

Personally, I have never seen anything so precious as the way these 2 are looking at each other.  Its like Aubrey just knows Liam is going to take her on some great adventures.  I know it will not always be like this, I do have a big brother myself, so I am going to cherish these moments when I can.

2. Fall
We have had some unseasonable weather here in the Carolinas this summer.  It rained frequently.  We even had a few cooler days... which I actually LOVED.  It gave me an excuse to put Aubrey in her first pair of Liam Legs

3. Pumpkin Flavor Food

I saw pumpkin waffles one day I had to pick up for Liam's breakfast.  It prompted me to go home and start pinning pumpkin recipes...and all things fall.

4. Walks with my babies
Don't worry Aubrey was just placed in the stroller with Liam for a picture, I walk with her in the carrier and Liam in the stroller.

As much as I want to run, sometimes its just not possible by the time Brian gets home from work, people need to eat, kids need bedtime... We are hoping to get me a treadmill soon, then I can run when Aubrey naps and Liam is in preschool.  But for now I get my exercise when I can, today that was a 3.5 mile walk.

5. Increased traffic to my LCF Threadz  Facebook page

Finally I think I am most excited about this this week.  I began sewing when Liam was diagnosed, it was therapeutic for me and helped earn some extra money for Liam's medical bills.  With Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, it means a lot to me to have this increased traffic.
When I went back to work full time, I no longer had time to sew, mostly just things for friends.  I have really enjoyed getting back to work on LCF Threadz.  Be on the look out for a special project I am planning for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (I'll show you next week)!

LCF Threadz: Dresses and Rompers

The product that comes up most searched for in my Etsy shop is a wrap dress.
This halter wrap dress ties around the neck and also wraps across the body and snaps close.

Another popuar product is this adorable romper my friend's daughter was a perfect model for.

This week I worked on some more dresses and rompers.

Adorable grey chevron print dress.  I love how the pink stands out on this dress.
Who's not a fan of chevron these days?  And these beautiful pink colors are super fun for the summer.
As much as I love dresses, rompers are so practical for younger children.

I cannot wait to see these adorable and colorful outfits on some lucky little girl!

LCF Threadz: Car Seat Canopies

Hey There!

I just wanted to show you all one of my new favorite products I have been making.  The Car Seat Canopy.  Its like a blanket that attaches to the handles of the infant carseat.

These are great to use year round.   In the summer, the "blanket" will keep the sun out of the baby's eyes, or you can use it in stores to cover the baby while s/he sleeps, or just to keep others from touching him/her.

In the winter, the blanket will help block the wind  and cold air from the baby.

These Car Seat Canopies can be made with either coordinating fabrics or with one side a soft, cuddly minky.

And as an added bonus, my carseat expert (yes, I really do have one :))  tells me this is one of the few  approved after market products.

If you are in need of a gift for someone having a baby, these are perfect!

LCF Threadz Shop Update

So last month I set one of my goals as to sew sew sew.  I did very well.

Usually any money I make through the shop pay for Liam's medical bills. Right now we are moving money toward a cruise we are taking Liam on.  We will be going on the anniversary of his diagnosis, making a positive experience during a very emotional time for us.

Last month I showed you some lovely lanyards I have made.

I also decorated a lucky boy's nursery

made several baby blankets

and sewed up some cute Liam legs.

September goal; sell 10 more of each!

MIA

Once again we have gone MIA.  This may effect my ability to reach my August goal of 15 posts.

I went back to work this week.  Liam went back to the sitter full time.  It has been an adjustment for all.

Being a public employee I have never said much about my work on here.  I am a teacher.
Returning back to work in the fall has always been a struggle, this year is no different.

When I had Liam, he was well planned!  I took 12 weeks of maternity leave that was followed by summer vacaction.  This gave me 6 months at home with him! Not enough in my opinion.

I really struggled when I returned to work.  I was teaching a class with some behavior problems, constiently concerned with other student's safety.  I was only at school that year for 3 months when Liam got sick and I took a leave of absence.  I felt guilty leaving my teammates with this class to divide, but I also didn't have the time or energy to think much about it.

Returning to work the next year was even more difficult, staying home with Liam for 9 months that time and all the pain that came with caring for a child with cancer.  I was {AM} so blessed to have my child {healthy now} I didn't want to limit my time with him.

But we need insurance so I returned to work.  I had the BEST class last year!  So thankful for that, but it didn't make the transition back to work any easier.

This year returning to work is more difficult because of some events that happened over the summer effecting my position.  But I have worked really hard to improve my attitude regarding the situation.  What happened was not the fault of any student, and I will return to work and give them the education they deserve.

All that being said I AM EXHAUSTED!

I have came home each night and spent time with my family, sewing more lanyards, dresses and baby blankets.  Then I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

Our Week in iPhone pics w.9

It's been a while since I shared some iphone pics.
While out car shopping Liam prefered to drive the motorcycle.

Donald needed to use the potty.

Forget the star gazing while driving.  I parked at Gymboree Wednesday morning and Liam began talking about a blue moon. I was a bit confused at first then I realized he was looking out the sunroof at the weight watchers sign.

Kick back and watch some Calliou

A little project I was working on this week( the finished product pictures to come later this week)

Liam's McQueen bubble bath.  He has been playing with the car for months, its never been used as bubble bath.

Liam needs real keys to drive his Cozy Coupe.

Lanyards Galore

Okay so it is no secret we haven't had good Thanksgivings.  Liam was diagnosed and hospitalized over his first Thanksgiving.  We were at home last year but it was still difficult for us, I have a feeling Thanksgiving will always be difficult- even though we are so thankful for all the blessings we have with Liam!

Well this year we are leaving our troubles behind!  Liam will have the time of his life!  We are going on a cruise!!!!  A 7 day cruise in the Caribbean. We are so excited, but it doesn't come cheap.  We leave in 107 days.  The first of many things I will be selling to pay for this cruise are lanyards.

It is the perfect time of year for lanyards will school starting just around the corner.  I will even argue a new lanyard is the best thing about school starting!

I will be posting them in the shop this week, if you would like to order one and don't see a color you like just email me the color/design you would like to see and I will make it!
