Sick- Blah!
Well December was a wash!
I spent the whole month in bed. First Liam came down with croup, a few days later I was at the doctor. Multiple appointments, fluids and rest later- I'm still sick!
The doctor threw around some words like "walking pnemonia" "antibiotics" "more antibiotics"
Although I am better, I question daily if I am going to lose my lung.
Cheers to my drink/food of choice these days!
Here is to kicking this junk and being healthy for the new year!

Beach Day
I'm not going to lie. Being on the cruise was so relaxing, I was having nightmares about coming back before we even left!
The cruise was not without difficulties. There were very few excursions we could do off ship with Liam. So in Jamaica was just took him to the beach.

Happy December
Happy December!
Well we went on a cruise, we've been back for a week, and I am exhausted still!
Finally getting around to uploading the pictures from our trip. I'm sure it will take a few posts to show everyone!
The ship we went on was the Allure of the Seas. I'm told it is the largest cruise ship out there. It was definately worth every penny! We all had a great time. And although it wasn't a Disney Cruise, they definately had tons for children and EVERY staff memeber we encountered on the trip was great with Liam.
Here are some pictures of Liam around the ship

Halloween
Better late than never?
The Pumpkin Patch
Children's Halloween Party at the local beer garden
Carving Pumpkins.... We failed here, they are still not finished! Shhh- Liam never has to know!
Trick-or-Treating with some friends.

This last picture is so cute. Liam was "scared of the monsters" so Connor said "I'll hold your hand, Liam"

Liam and His Pumpkin
Keeping in theme of Dawn is behind schedule- Halloween decorations just came out of the attic today.
Mom and Dad just remembered a little thing called "The Pumpkin Patch" yesterday....
But before I get to a post about the Pumpkin Patch, here is Liam's annual picure with his pumpkin

Catch Up
I live for the day I am not playing catch up. (big joke right?!) But I feel like I only update the blog in catch up mode.
Whoever said teaching was a family friendly profession LIED! 12 hour work days and never getting everything done does not equal family friendly.
But lets talk about Liam's BFF- Jack the Dog
They are exactly(ish) a year apart- as close as you can figure with a rescue dog. They are probably equally as expensive!
Jack wins the award for the MOST EXPENSIVE RESCUE DOG EVER!
1. maulled at the dog park
2. hit by a car
3. multiple infections
Our latest adventure with Jack began about a month ago. Ear infection, eye infection and foot infection. Yes, foot. He chews on his paws so bad he has lost his fur. Numerous x-rays and appointments later, he still chews and limps around.
At a follow up appointment last week, we found out he may have tore his ACL- which requires surgery.
SERIOUSLY JACK!
Enjoy your new daily medicine routine!

TGIF
And we have been having some potty training fun.
Liam has been doing so well! He lets us know when he has to go pee. But he still has yet to poop in the potty.
I am really impressed with him. In the last week we have not been on a schedule. His sitter was sick Monday and Tuesday, so he went to stay with a friend while Mom and Dad went to work. Wednesday he went back to Lettie's (his sitter). Then Grandma and Great Grandma came to visit, so he got to stay home and play with them. None of these changes have effected his potty training {much}.
I also made an executive decision today with Liam's Halloween Costume. I made sure to pick one up that Liam can easily use the pottty in.

Thomas the Tank Engine
I know most people probably call him Thomas the Train, but I used to babysit a little boy who very ademently corrected me; he is not a train, he is a tank engine.
Well Thomas was visiting the North Carolina Museum of Transportation the last 2 weekends so we scored some tickets {read: overpaid for some tickets} and took Liam.
His face when he saw the train coming was worth it!
And OH MY LUCKY STARS he got to ride on Thomas!

I feel so often that I am missing out of so much time with Liam while I am at work. As much as I love staying at home and relaxing on the weekend, nothing is better that cuddling up with Liam on the couch and watching so Pixar, but we love taking him out and making these memories.
And tomorrow Grandma and Great-Grandma come to visit. He is a busy little guy!

Legoland
Chances are pretty good you played with legos as a child. Chances are still pretty good if you have a child they play with legos, or one day will.
LEGO knew what they were doing when they built that company.
The other weekend (I am so behind on updating here) we took Liam to Atlanta to visit Tia Mary and went to Legoland.

This might be a nice switch up to the buffalo chicken dip we always have
And the wreath on my front door! Made by me!
Find me on Pinterest. All of these pins, except my wreath came from pinners I follow. I'd love to see what you pin.

Wordless{ish} Wednesday
Remember Max the Chemo Monkey? (Seriously click the link- my favorite picture of Liam)
Well anyway Liam has recently began to really grow attached to Max. He even tucks Max tightly into his sleeping bag to sleep while he is too busy with other toys.

Proud New Owners
... of dirt and trees!
It has always been Brian's dream that he will build us a house. We have taken that first step and bought a lot. It was a private deal, Brian will be in charge of building the house, no large companies. The lot is at the end of a dead end street, very private. We love that area that will be our future home.

Liam exploring our future "house"
Liam following Daddy, and minicing him
The "trail" behind where our house will sit.
As the pictures show there are a lot of trees and nature on this property. We would like to keep as much of that a possibly. It will also be important for us to clear some of it out to allow space for Liam and Jack to run and play, also taking into consideration a need for visiblilty of the yard from the house as Liam grows old enough to play outside alone.

LCF Threadz Shop Update
So last month I set one of my goals as to sew sew sew. I did very well.
Usually any money I make through the shop pay for Liam's medical bills. Right now we are moving money toward a cruise we are taking Liam on. We will be going on the anniversary of his diagnosis, making a positive experience during a very emotional time for us.
Last month I showed you some lovely lanyards I have made.
I also decorated a lucky boy's nursery
made several baby blankets
and sewed up some cute Liam legs.
September goal; sell 10 more of each!
